My name is Charlotte
My name is Charlotte and I'm a 13 year old entrepreneur. I create fun, quirky and colourful earrings to express one's individuality in Nanango, Australia. My favourite earrings to create are novelty earrings! My earrings are made with polymer clay and high quality sterling silver and stainless steel jewellery findings. I donate 20% of the profits of each product sold to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) because I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when I was 5 years old, so it's a cause very close to my heart. Other than making earrings, I enjoy doing escape rooms, challenging myself, camping, reading, playing netball, being outside, acting, baking and talking. My Story
Pocket Pals all started with Terry, the bluebird. My sister asked me if I wanted to create a bird out of craft with her and so I said yes. I picked out some supplies- pipe cleaners, beads, foam shapes (and yes, I know, not very eco-friendly)- and got to work. I continued to twist and glue and cut until he was perfect! Once he was finished I took a good look at him. It was then that I had a brilliant idea to sell these little figurines on Facebook- I sold all 8 in the first day!
I loved every minute of business and continued to grow my small business. It was one Christmas that I got an earring making kit to make Christmas presents that I found a love in earring making. I read a business book about Kid businesses and then I desperately wanted a proper business. I started up a Facebook page and got to work advertising my products. I got orders, and business had never been better! I did markets and asked shops if they'd sell my products. Soon enough Pocket Pals thriving!
Since I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 5, I donate 20% of the profits to JDRF. I still continue to grow my business and I love every minute of it. I hope you'll support my business by purchasing a pair of one-of-a-kind earrings!
